How BetWest treats your personal data
Version of 9 October 2026. This policy covers the personal data we hold about members with a United Kingdom account at BetWest, the online casino and sportsbook. Questions about it go to [email protected], with the account name and the request.
Data we hold, grouped by the moment it reaches us
| Moment | Data | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | Personal details, confirmation that you are 18 or over | Opening the account in your name; documents are not needed to browse the site |
| First deposit | Payment method, amount, date; recorded in pounds sterling | Crediting the balance and any welcome stage |
| Before the first payout | Photo ID, proof of address up to three months old, proof of the payment method | Checking identity and that the card or wallet is yours |
| Play | Stakes, results, bonus progress, free spin schedule | Settling bets, applying the 35x and 40x rollovers, VIP status over 90 days |
| Withdrawal | Requests, approvals, method | Paying to a method in the member’s name |
| Support | Chat and email messages | Answering questions and following up a payment query |
Documents arrive through the Documents section of the account, within 30 days of our request. Messages sent to live chat or to the support email are kept with the account so that the same question does not have to be explained twice.
Payment data by method
A card payment is processed with the card issuer and the card network. An e-wallet payment passes through the wallet provider, which holds the wallet account. A bank transfer involves the bank of the member. A cryptocurrency transfer is recorded on a public blockchain that we cannot alter, so only the wallet addresses and amounts you use appear there. Because proof of ownership is required for the payment method, we keep the link between that method and the account for as long as the account is open.
Records behind bonuses and VIP status
To apply a welcome stage we record the deposit that opened it, the date, the stakes counted towards the 35x rollover and the 40x count on free spin winnings. VIP status is judged on the previous 90 days of play, so the stakes and deposits of that period place the account on one of the five levels. The daily and monthly withdrawal ceilings are tied to the level and therefore also rest on these records.
Sportsbook and cashback records
A sports bet is recorded with the market, the selection, the odds and the stake. The sports welcome offer counts a bet only at odds of 2.00 or more on a single and 1.50 or more on each selection of an accumulator, and its 6x rollover is tracked against those bets. Cashback is calculated from net losses over the period of the offer: 10% for sports with a 3x requirement, and up to 15% daily or 25% live for casino play with a 1x requirement. These calculations use the stakes and results held on the account.
Withdrawal and document records
Each withdrawal request is recorded with its date, amount and method, because at most three requests can be pending together and one deposit must have been staked once before the first payout. Our finance team handles requests from Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 17:00 GMT, and the approval is recorded against the request. For documents, we record which of the three items were received, when they arrived and whether they were approved, so that a member who is asked for a replacement is told which item is missing.
Reload offers and free spins
The weekly reload of 50 free spins and the weekend reload of 50% with 50 free spins are recorded as separate offers with their own 10-day period. The 35 free spins credited each day of the first welcome stage are recorded by date, together with the winnings that carry the 40x count.
Who receives data
Payment providers receive the details needed to process a deposit or a payout on the method you choose, whether that is a card, an e-wallet, a bank or a cryptocurrency network. Game studios supply games and live tables, and the live casino streams come from studios such as Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, Imagine Live and Vivo Gaming. Our support tools handle chat and email.
Language of contact
Chat is offered in English, German, Finnish, French, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Italian, Czech, Slovak, Slovene and Croatian, and the language chosen is recorded with the conversation. The Documents section of the account is meant for the files we ask for; card numbers and passwords do not belong in a message.
Data about limits and self-exclusion
When a member asks our support team for a deposit limit, a loss limit, a break or self-exclusion, the request and its start date are recorded on the account so that the setting is applied and can be checked later. A Reality Check reminder is available on the site.
Your rights under UK data protection law
UK data protection law, meaning the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, gives you the following rights over the personal data we hold:
- access: a copy of the data held on your account;
- rectification: correction of inaccurate or incomplete details;
- erasure: deletion of data that we no longer need or have no lawful basis to keep;
- restriction: a pause on the use of data while a question about it is resolved;
- objection: to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing;
- portability: data you provided, in a structured, machine-readable format.
A request is sent to [email protected] with the account name and the right you are using. A change to a registered detail is carried out by our support team, because the profile itself allows only the PIN to be changed.
Complaints about the use of your data
A formal complaint is sent by email to our support team and is reviewed by the responsible department under the Complaints Resolution Procedure in our terms. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at any time.
Minors and duplicate accounts
An application from a person under 18 is refused, as is one from a person in a restricted jurisdiction or from someone who already has an account. Because one person may hold only one account, a further account opened by the same person is treated as a duplicate and closed.
Cookies and device data
Strictly necessary cookies and the technical data of your browser and device keep you signed in and show the lobby correctly on a phone, tablet or computer. Under UK rules, cookies that are not strictly necessary may be set only with your consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time by deleting cookies or changing the settings of your browser. Blocking the cookies that keep you signed in can stop the login from working.
Security
Traffic to the site is protected by TLS encryption, and the files you upload in the Documents section travel over the same protected connection. We state no other technical measure here, because none has been published.
